A paid appointment, or “a planning session,” is the first time the attorney formally reviews your issues. If you’re looking for advice on your case, this is the right option. At any time after the appointment, you might decide to retain the attorney. Unlike a free informative call, during the planning session, an attorney-client relationship is created, meaning the attorney can give advice, must adhere to strict rules of confidentiality, and is “conflicted out” of representing the adverse side. We go through finances, family issues, and detailed facts. Having a real-life plan as well as understanding your best, worst, and common scenarios gives peace of mind and makes the process much less scary.
